June 9th – June 12th

Presented by graduate students of Carleton’s Department of History, this exhibit considers how archivists present themselves and their work when they are in front of the camera lens. Through a selection of archival images, this exhibition highlights how publicity, newspaper, and social media photographs depict the people behind the desks and the public utility of the photographic archives. Camera Shy leaves room for archivists to claim their practice in the ways they believe best represents them, but also asks viewers to consider the ways these images formally work toward that goal.
Come tour this small exhibit during breaks or after sessions are over for the day!
