Nomination Form - ACA Board of Directors


The Nominations Committee, a sub-committee of the Governance Committee is seeking nominations for (3) ACA Director (Board) positions that are up for election at the ACA Annual General Meeting in Toronto on Saturday June 8th, 2019.

Nominations are requested for the following positions:

  • Vice President (2 year term)
  • Secretary (2 year term)
  • Director at Large 2 (2 year term)

The term of office for these positions is the 2020 and 2021 calendar years.

For this election, we will continue with the six-month shadowing period for Directors-Elect. During this period the Director-Elect will shadow the current office holder, participate in Board meetings or calls and attend an orientation and planning meeting in the fall to aid in an efficient transfer of duties.

Directors must be individual members in good standing. Their nomination must be supported by five (5) ACA members. Those nominated must also provide a brief biography that will be made available to ACA members in advance of the AGM. The ACA welcomes more inclusive representation in the composition of its Board and Committees and encourages the nomination of all qualified individuals including women, members of racialized communities, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, and persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity.

The ACA Bylaws provides for nominations from the floor at the Annual General Meeting on the 8th of June at the Chelsea Hotel.  An online vote will take place following the AGM.

The nominee will outline their qualifications for the Board of Director position. This information will be shared with ACA members leading up to the online vote and will be shared on the ACA website and via social media.
If you are the nominee you may indicate ACA members who have agreed to nominate you.
Each nominee must have five nominations from members in good standing.
Nominees will have submitted their statements and nominator's will indicate they have read the statement of qualifications.
