Members have elected Loryl MacDonald as the incoming ACA President, 2019-2020.
Loryl is the University Archivist and the Interim Associate Chief Librarian for Special Collections and Director of Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library at the University of Toronto. She is currently heading a division of 35 staff and oversees some of the most wonderful archives and rare book collections in Canada. She holds a Master of Archival Studies degree and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. She also teaches the graduate course, Legal Issues in Archives, at the U. of T. Faculty of Information. She has led archival associations, having served as the President of the Association of Canadian Archivists, the Archives Association of Ontario, and the Toronto Area Archivists Group.
We are lucky to have such a well respected and experienced leader ready to take the helm in January!
