The ACAF is asking individuals to volunteer for the ACA Foundation. The ACAF is seeking three (3) individuals who are interested in becoming Directors and who are passionate about supporting new professionals, students and other archivists in their pursuit of contributing to the archival community.
The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a fund-raising and fund granting charitable organization, with the specific aim of supporting the educational and research needs of the Canadian archival profession. Its key areas of focus are the following:
* To provide bursaries to Canadians and landed immigrants, who are attending universities or colleges that are Canadian registered charities and who are enrolled in archival-related disciplines.
* To administer and fund-raise for the ACAF Scholarship Endowment Fund, established in 2010. This Fund was set up to produce a long-term income stream for the provision of scholarships to archival studies students, and thus support the Canadian archival profession.
If you are willing and able to serve as a Director, please reply to Chris Trainor, Chair of the ACAF firstname.lastname@example.org by November 28th, 2018. Please include your name as well as your institutional or program affiliation.
The ACAF welcomes more inclusive representation in the composition of its Board and encourages expressions of interest from all qualified individuals including women, members of racialized communities, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, and persons of any sexual orientation or gender identity.
