Education Committee The Education Committee reviews and advises the Board of Directors matters related to archival education and professional learning for archives and records professionals in Canada. Specific duties include:
Committee Members (2020) Glenn Dingwall, chair Greg Bak Alexandra Mills Gordon Burr Devon Mordell Amanda Oliver Asen Ivanov Jeremy Heil, Board Liaison Current Initiatives The Education Committee has three main tasks that it is currently working on, consistent with the ACAs strategic plan. It is working to develop new professional development opportunities for members. The Committee is working with the Program Committee for the 2020 conference to include a professional development stream as part of the conference, and it is working on identifying member's development needs and looking for ways to deliver relevant local and regional instruction and training at other times during the year. The Committee is researching the pros and cons of accreditation, for graduate archival education programs, and for professional archivists. Finally, the Committee is developing a plan for keeping the Association's graduate education guidelines current and relevant through a process of regular periodic review and revision.
