The Health Archives Special Interest Section is a professional network for ACA members who are responsible for, or have an interest in, health archives.
Goals and objectives:
•To collect and disseminate information and discuss issues surrounding the management of healthcare related records throughout their life cycle (management, appraisal, preservation, arrangement/description, and use).
•To identify possible interests and concerns of health archives nationally.
•To develop related archivist and scholarly dialogue by organizing ACA conference sessions on concerns and topics of relevance to health archives.
•To form and sustain a group of professionals that provides ACA members with advice on and support for health archives.
•To liaise with other special interest sections and student chapters on related issues.
•To inform/alert the ACA executive about significant health archives issues and concerns for possible further action.
•To establish relationships with organizations and entities outside the archival community, to raise awareness about health archives in Canada.
