Australian Research Council's Excellence in Research awards Archivaria its Highest Rating

The Board of Directors of the Association of Canadian Archivists is extremely pleased to report that Archivaria has been given the highest possible rating by the Australian Research Council in their evaluation of peer-reviewed journals.

Journals are ranked in 4 grades: A+; A; B; and C.  When the evaluation process began in 2008, only 2 archival journals were included on the Australian Research Council’s list of journals of research quality. Both were ranked at C. In 2010, 13 journals relating to archives and records are on the list with Archivaria and Archival Science receiving the highest rating. Archivaria is one of only 6 journals ranked at A+ in the library and information science discipline.

The Board wishes to extend its sincerest congratulations and thanks to Archivaria’s editors, contributors, and reviewers - past and present – for their dedication to the journal and to the ACA.
